everyone.
- The
bay is sheltered and can be enjoyed by all boats whether powered
by motor, sail or paddle.
- The
wildlife is abundant; seals, sea lions, otter, herons, king fishers,
eagles, woodpeckers, rabbits, bears and deer can all be viewed
within a short walking distance.
- Young
children can play on the beach at the end of the spit or fish
for shiners, perch & bullheads at the Government dock.
- The
view of Chrome Lighthouse is spectacular and well worth photographing.
- We
are close to clam & oyster beds, excellent swimming, Denman &
Hornby Islands, golf, tennis, as well as boat rentals & charters
and canoe & kayak rentals.

How
To Get Here
- Take
the ferry to Nanaimo & travel one hour north on either highway
19 or 19A.
- From
Highway 19 exit at Cook Creek Road and travel 5 minutes south
along highway 19A
- Tturn
left onto Gainsberg Road and follow the signs to the waterfront.
- If
you are travelling by boat, we are located just north of Chrome
Island Light in Baynes Sound.
