To get to the Vancouver Island Tourist Festival just follow these simple driving directoins.
Begin at the start. Drive north on South Island Hwy. which runs east and west. Be sure to be on Island Hwy. not Inland Island Hwy. Turn left/west at at the Alberni Hwy. which is Highway 4A and runs parallel to the northbound highway you were just driving on. Don't turn left at Highway 4 as that goes west to Port Alberni unlike the Alberni Highway which goes to Coombs. If you want to go to Port Alberni you have to continue west on the northbound South Island Highway which magically becomes the North Island Highway just west of where you are. Turn south on Highway 4 from Highway 19A just north of the Qualicum Beach Golf Course. Drive past the golf course and continue through Qualicum Beach past Highway 19 southbound on the road to the West Coast. If you pass by yourself while driving west on a road that heads south be sure to wave.
